Useful organisations

The TUC also represents working people on public and international bodies.
  • Organisational affiliates: the society is affiliated with a number of domestic and international organisations, and works in collaboration with many other bodies.
  • ACAS (the Advisory, Conciliation, and Arbitration Service) offers conciliation and arbitration services for collective industrial disputes and employment tribunal cases.
  • The Equality and Human Rights Commission works to ensure that everyone has a fair chance to participate in society.
  • The Labour Research Department (LRD) is an independent research organisation publishing news and information for trade unionists.
  • Thompsons Solicitors is one of the largest national employment and specialist personal injury practices in the UK. They specialise in helping unions to protect the interests of their members and publish a wide range of helpful guidance. Thompsons also supplies CSP legal services to members.
