The CSP produces a range of resources to support educators provide high quality physiotherapy education. The society in turn accredits both qualifying physiotherapy degrees and many post-qualifying programmes.
Together this helps meet the ultimate goal of delivering high quality, evidence-based and person-centred physiotherapy services to the public.
Develop your role
The CSP offers a range of opportunities for educators to participate in quality assurance processes associated with physiotherapy education.
CSP representatives: to effect arrangements for approving and advising on the development of qualifying and post-qualifying physiotherapy education programmes. The CSP recruits education representatives for physiotherapy pre-registration degree programmes and for post-registration programmes with HEI links.
Groups and committees: at regular intervals we look for educators to sit on a number of internal groups. This covers the CSP's Education Committee, Quality Assurance & Enhancement Group, Research & Development Committee, and the Learning & Development Reference Group.
Networking opportunities: the CSP provides professional networking opportunities to members of physiotherapy programme teams. Channels through which these opportunities are offered include the following:
- face-to-face/ online national network meetings including learning & development network meetings (face-to-face or virtual), learning and development sessions at Physiotherapy UK and relevant webinars
- opportunities for electronic networking through iCSP: this includes closed networks for those involved in the specific HEI roles (admissions tutors, practice education forum, subject heads and programme leads) as well as the Education Forum and Learning & Development networks. We would like all HEI-based members to join the iCSP Learning and Development Network
- ad hoc arrangements for regional meetings: these have a focus on particular quality enhancement themes or responding to changing patient care and service delivery needs
- occasional seminars and workshops: to meet particular interests and needs
Do you need some advice?
Professional Advice Service
The CSP has a dedicated Professional Advice Service for its members. The confidential service provides advice and guidance on the role and responsibilities of chartered physiotherapists. PAS also advises on what impact current health and social care policy has on physiotherapy practice and service delivery.

Education specialists
The CSP also has dedicated education specialists who can assist with, for example, student related matters, quality assurance and enhancement queries and interpreting education, health & social care policies as they impact on physiotherapy education at all levels (support worker, qualifying and post-qualifying education).
