CSP's Council has endorsed Long COVID Physio, an international advocacy, education and peer support, patient-led association, as the society's first Affiliated Organisation.
Living with Long Covid
Affiliated Organisation status marks a formal association with CSP for independent physiotherapy networks and groups that share the same strategic priorities and wish for closer collaboration.
Long COVID Physio was set up in late 2020 by physiotherapists living with Long Covid, to share experiences and support between allied health professionals and support workers who themselves are living with the condition.
The association has since expanded its purpose, to develop education resources, participate in research, and advocate on Long Covid through the voices of its members.
Darren Brown, co-founder and inaugural chair of Long COVID Physio, said:
Long COVID Physio are proud to partner with CSP as the first Affiliated Organisation, to build on our established foundations and evolve our partnership to forge new opportunities for change, in response to Long Covid in the UK and around the world. Partnerships are critical to connect and create change, and this new relationship offers opportunities for further joint working on education, practice, and policy on Long Covid, disability and safe rehabilitation.

CSP and Long COVID Physio have already worked on a number of initiatives, including the development of CSP's updated Covid-19 rehabilitation standards, and knowledge-sharing member events about safe rehabilitation for people living with Long Covid.
