Members urged to vote on Northern Ireland pay offer

An offer on pay for Health and Social Care Northern Ireland staff will be put to CSP members following a breakthrough in talks.

Negotiations between health unions and the newly formed executive concluded with an offer that will bring Northern Ireland pay scales back in line with England with a five per cent consolidated pay offer backdated to April 2023.

In addition, the offer includes a non-consolidated lump sum of £1,505 for staff on Agenda for Change terms and conditions who have been working during the 2023-24 period.

More detailed information will be made available as soon as possible and during the consultation.

The CSP pay sub-group has carefully considered the offer and will be recommending members accept the offer as the best that can be achieved through negotiation.

Claire Ronald, the CSP’s senior negotiating officer for Northern Ireland, welcomed the breakthrough.

There’s no question that the strike action taken by our members and those in other unions put huge pressure on politicians to reform the executive and then enter negotiations

While the offer is not all members deserve, it does bring pay parity with the England scales and allow for one-off element to be paid.

The final decision is always with members though, so it is vital that everyone ensures their details are up to date and takes part in the consultation when it goes live.

Members are encouraged to check their details on the CSP website and then return the emailed survey when it goes out in the coming days.
