The Prosecco and Pelvic Floor charity event takes place on 18 September in Bath. It will focus on motherhood and the injuries that can be sustained in childbirth, with the aim of avoiding problems that can show up later in life.

‘I see people post-operatively who say, “if only they had seen me earlier …” This is intended as prehab to show women how to prevent problems that can result from childbirth, such as pelvic pain, incontinence and sexual dysfunction,’ said Ms Smith, who is a pelvic pain specialist at Royal United Hospitals (RUH), Bath.

‘The events are meant to be fun to get people’s attention, not serious or negative, and there will be quizzes and raffles to fundraise for our therapies building at RUH and the Therapies Matters Campaign,’ she added.
