A free programme for members working with people with Ehlers-Danlos 

Project ECHO links expert specialist teams at an academic hub with primary care clinicians in local communities. Primary care clinicians become part of a learning community, where they receive mentoring and feedback from specialists. Together, they manage patient cases so that patients get the care they need.

Fidget Widget toolkit

A set of five specially designed widgets aimed at keeping hands busy and relaxed. Each of the five wooden tools has a specific motion, which can help to relax or calm an individual or support repetitive actions. Created by Active Minds, The Alzheimer’s Society and University of Central Lancashire, the toolkit costs £59.95 and is available to order from shop alzheimers

NHS efficiency map 

This tool to help members and other health professionals to promote best practice was updated in April. The map helps to identify, deliver and monitor cost improvement programmes and quality, innovation, production and prevention schemes in the NHS. It has three sections: enablers for efficiency, service efficiency and system efficiency. It highlights successes some NHS organisations have had in delivering specific efficiency schemes and provides signposts to existing tools and reference materials

Interactive public health e-learning tools

A series of e-learning tools to boost healthcare professionals’ knowledge and skills. Launched by Public Health England, they provide bite-sized information on key public health issues to help members and other professionals prevent illness, protect health and promote wellbeing. CSP employment briefings

Available on the CSP website, these briefings provide valuable workplace advice. Digital triage tool for musculoskeletal disorders

Physiowizard is an online platform and mobile application that enables patients to self-assess muscle and joint problems. It uses algorithms to summarise the patient’s medical assessment into automated reports. Physiowizard’s key benefits include 24/7 access from any device – tablet, PC or mobile. It has the ability to match patients to a recommended pathway of care on day one of their musculoskeletal disorder and it provides an automated report for the patient and a clinician. 

Fun stroke rehab

The NeuroBall is a smart tool to support upper limb rehabilitation exercise by playing games. Users can access different games through the app, and track their progress. Developed with stroke survivors and therapists, the NeuroBall intelligently adapts to the individual’s ability and becomes increasingly challenging as they progress.
