The current climate in health care creates challenges for people with management responsibilities. LAMPS offers you support, access to a variety of expertise, mentoring, a forum for debate and discussion and help to improve service delivery.

Why have we changed our name from ACPM?

As you will be aware the ACPM has now changed it's name to LaMPS - Leaders and Managers of Physiotherapy Services. It was a difficult decision to update our name but the ACPM title no longer reflected the changing nature of how Physiotherapists manage and are managed. In many areas the band 6s and 7s can be the highest banded Physiotherapist in the unit, whereas other Physiotherapists have moved into general management. Developments in healthcare delivery now see a greater number of our members in the private and independent sectors, some in social enterprises and others in research.

This evolution in the traditional hierarchical Physiotherapy structure, along with the developments across healthcare recognises the vital role that leadership has to play, alongside efficient management, to deliver modernised health services demanded today in the UK and beyond.

Influencing the CSP - LaMPS members are on many CSP committees and also meet with the CSP senior management regularly, to share what is really happening on the ground

It is this grass roots support and knowledge that sets LaMPS apart in providing a Professional Network run by leaders and managers for the leaders and managers of today and tomorrow.
